Privacy Policy

The short version: the app runs entirely on your desktop and sends us nothing. The only personal data we hold is the licence record created when you buy (your email and an anonymised device fingerprint) and, if you start a free trial from this site or inside the app, the email you started it with. This website uses cookieless aggregate analytics, plus Google Analytics only if you accept the cookie banner — see section 3.

1. The app: everything stays on your computer

AI Visibility Tracker is a local-first desktop application. Your projects, brand terms, prompts, engine answers, scores, reports and settings are stored in a local database on your own computer, using your own storage. Your API keys are encrypted with your operating system’s keychain and stored locally.

The app contains no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting and no account system. It never transmits your prompts, results or keys to us — we have no server that could receive them. Its network traffic is limited to: (a) the AI providers you configure (for example OpenRouter), directly from your machine, under your own API keys and those providers’ privacy policies; (b) licence and trial requests: starting a trial sends your email address, and activation and the periodic licence re-checks send your licence key and the hashed device fingerprint described in section 2 (activation also sends the one-time code we email you) — never your app data; and (c) if you set one up, a Slack webhook you provide, receiving only the report summaries you choose to send.

Error logs are written to disk on your computer and stay there. They are only ever shared if you explicitly choose to copy or email them to support.

Because we never hold this data, we also cannot access, restore or delete it for you — it is entirely under your control, and its storage and backup are your responsibility.

2. What we do store: your licence record

When you buy the app — or start a free trial from this site — we store the minimum needed to deliver and verify it:

  • Your purchase email (it IS your licence).
  • Purchase metadata from Stripe: the checkout session id, amount and timestamp. Stripe processes the payment itself — we never see or store your card details.
  • When you activate the app, a one-way hashed fingerprint of your computer (never the raw hardware identifier) so the licence can be bound to one machine at a time, plus the dates of any moves between computers so the two-moves-per-30-days limit can be applied.
  • Sign-in metadata for the account page (first/last sign-in time, sign-in count).
  • If you start a free trial — from this site or from inside the app — the email you used, which platform you asked for and the date the trial started. We record the start date so the trial is the same 7 days on every reinstall; we get no signal about whether or how you use the app itself.
  • The Windows installer is not yet code-signed. Windows itself (via SmartScreen/Microsoft Defender’s reputation check, not anything we add) may send the installer’s file hash to Microsoft the first time you run it — this is standard Windows behaviour for any unrecognized publisher’s software and is outside our control.

3. Website analytics and cookies

This website — not the app — uses two analytics tools. DataFast runs on every page: it is cookieless and aggregate, recording page views and referrers with no personally identifiable information and no cross-site tracking.

Google Analytics 4 is different, so we ask first. It sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*) in your browser, derives an approximate location from your IP address, and sends that data to Google, who process it under their own terms. It is loaded with Google Consent Mode set to denied by default, which means it stores nothing and sets no cookies unless you press Accept on the banner. If you press Decline, or simply ignore the banner, it stays switched off.

You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies and site data in your browser, which resets the banner.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use either tool to build advertising profiles — Google Ads personalisation signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization) are set to denied and we never turn them on.

4. Emails

We send transactional email: one-time sign-in codes (delivered via our email provider) and replies to messages you send to support@questera.ai. If you start a free trial we may also send a small number of emails about your trial and the launch price — reply "stop" or email support@questera.ai once and they end. No newsletters unless you explicitly ask for one, and we never share or sell your address.

5. Third parties we rely on

  • Stripe — payment processing (your payment details live with Stripe, under Stripe’s privacy policy).
  • Netlify — hosts this website and the licence and trial records described above.
  • Questera’s email service — delivers one-time sign-in codes to your inbox.
  • Your AI providers (e.g. OpenRouter) — the app talks to them directly from your machine; we are not a party to that traffic.

6. Retention & deletion

We keep your licence record for as long as your licence exists, because it is the licence. Trial records are kept so we can help you during and after the trial; if you never buy, email support@questera.ai from that address and we’ll delete the record promptly. If you want your licence record deleted (which permanently revokes the licence), or want a copy of what we hold about you, email support@questera.ai from your purchase address and we’ll action it promptly.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes with it, and material changes will be noted on this page.
